So yeah, haven't done one of these proper blogs is ages - so hold on to your hats...
I had a doctors appointment last week, and he was surprised at how well my lungs have reacted to the Spiriva, in fact this is the first time in more than two years that they have been stable enough to start exercising - but first I'm gonna have to lose the spare tyre, mark my words I'm gonna be a shadow of my current self 
I applied for a position with the city council the other week, they sent a reject e-mail. Now over here employment law allows us to ask for feedback as to why we didn't get the post, which was requested. The department sent a curious response, I apparently failed on: hight school education, working to deadlines, and lack of experience of insurance in a local authority environment. Now first of all I have a college level education, in fact it's been thirty years since I graduated from high school, and high school qualifications get binned after five years of Big Wide World experience. Secondly, I have been working to deadlines and meeting them for the last five years. And finally - experience, this qualification wasn't even on the original job spec so why he mentions it now I don't know - unless he's trying to find excuses not to employ someone with disabilities... Boy am I gonna have a redheaded field day on his ass if he is. 
Slugs have been attacking my garden 
They had a go at the lupins, and I found one had even managed to find it's way into a basket. The basket is ruined and the lupins were denuded, I swore at the beginning of the season not to use chemicals, but after seeing 20 slugs headed for the same flower bed, I just could not let that happen ... 
While on the subject of gardens, my next major project is looming - I plan on planting a formal hedge at the bottom of the garden, and I'm seriously thinking about Box which would give me a great opportunity to learn topiary 
Oh, yes tomorrow I'm on a day trip to Bath - gonna spend the day at the Herschel Museum, all new blog with piccies
