Michelle Obama's Speech
Posted On 08/26/2008 04:46:37 by JuWells

I thought Michelle Obama's speech was great, it made me tear up (I was already teary-eyed from seeing Ted Kennedy of course).

What did you guys think?

Oh, yes, and I'd appreciate not being ripped to shreds for being a Democrat/Liberal; I really just want to see what others thought of what she said and how she said it.

I thought she was amazingly poised and touching, and I loved the whole thing, from the personal reflections to the hope of the future. I do believe it's time to embrace change; America continuing on the same course is going to be beyond the toilet in which we currently reside and down into the sewers.

In my opinion, that is

K, bye.

Thoughtful comments could never be considered pollution.

So......I did some research on this "Amero" and it seems as though it's been a "conspiracy theory" for SOME years now. Not something that's come along recently at all. I've googled it and found articals as old as 2 to 3 years old. I checked out snopes, which brought this to their site back about a year ago. http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/amero.asp Hrm....as far as the politics, I'll keeps those from here as I don't think that's what Jules's point was at all. I just wanted to add what I've seen on this "Amero" and the "theory" behind it. Anyway sorry for pollutin' your bloggy Jules. Just wanted to say....:)

YIKES you peeps are SO freakin' cynical; it makes me sad.

I have hope for change, I really do, and I believe in Obama.

And Shayne, my goodness. I wholeheartedly but respectfully DISagree with everything you said, and I haven't heard anything about Amero and that other stuff...but it sounds like survivalist conspiracy theories to me (though I'd put NOTHING by BushyNuts, the Lying Idiot Extraordinaire (just my opinion, no offense to any BushyLovers)).

Ah, politics. Ain't they fun?

But about the speech, they said on the news she wrote it herself and I did not find it simple or contrived, at all. I found it simple (in the good, straighforward, elegant way) and heartfelt and effective, and I loved it. She's a good public speaker, and she comes across as much more real than ANY other candidate's wife.

I missed it as well, but have been catching as much as I can on the internet, and like what I've heard. I'm a staunch liberal Democrat and fully support the Obama/Biden ticket. Change is what we need, it won't come easily and it probably won't come quick enough for many.  But I feel much more hopeful with Obama than with anyone one else in a very long time!

I don't agree with you at all, MrWright and you, I'm sure have no agreement with me, but that's what makes living here, and the election process so terrific!

I have to agree with MrWright. We are fecked no matter what. Might as well bend over and be ready.

it was contrived pandering plain and simple. I am sure someone wrote that speech for her and gave her tips on how to present it so that it would have maximum effect for their "taget demographic" it is just more political machinations from our countries power mongers. The truth of the matter is.....

1. If Barrack Huessein Obamma gets elected we're fecked!
2. If John McCain gets elected we're still fecked just not as bad
3. If Hitler_y Clinton is successful in having Obamma assasinated and then she gets elected we are UBER FECKED quick fast and in a hurry!!!
4. Bush has already signed an agreement to make the USA a part of the new "North American Union"
5. The new currency the "Amero" is already being produced and you can find images on the web
6. the powers that be will use the formation of this new North American Union to remove the constitution and with it remove all our GOD given rights and thats when things will really go to shite.

dont be romanced by this womans words and dont fall for the promises of any party's candidate because they are all working towards the same end...America is in its  final hours as a nation and we will hear it's death rattle soon and no one is awake to resist it but the very few but it is too few to do anything about it.

we are doomed no matter who gets in office, its all down hill from here just wait and watch and youll see. prepare for the worst and expect the worst and then if something good actually happens think of how suprised you'll be!

Well, you all know I'm far from a lib, however, this said; her speach was really great. I think Michelle is one of the best speakers I've seen as far as the wives go in politics. That said.....after having to drive through DNC traffic yesterday...I want it gone and now:P

The British press are raving about it, even to saying he is the new Kennedy. Since I was introduced to American politics by another RH member, Gloria. I have been saying that Obama will be good for America on the world stage - just a damn shame I don't have a vote.

Sorry...didn't see the speech. I'm not so much into politics. I know enough so that I am not completely ignornat.
