Captain Clark [+1838] for many years lived in St Louis and was governor of The Great West. He was tall, very strong built, with piercing grey eyes and red hair. His appearence made a deep impression on the Indians, who had never before seen a red haired man. The Omaha Indians to this day call St Louis the town of red-haired men. [?]
