A letter from Caithness
Posted On 10/14/2008 18:28:50 by Philly
Helloo for those who don't know, after mothers funeral I was invited to stay for a while in northern Scotland by my father and stepmother. After a darn near 24 hour drive we arrived at his rented cottage about 17 miles west of John O Groats - which until recently was believed to be the most northerly point on the British mainland, this all changed when GPS technology showed Dunnet Head to be further north by a couple of metres. Anyway, I digress. The principal reasons I came north was that I could recouperate after the funeral and also sort through mothers papers, and so far we discovered that not only did she have assets of over 200,000 pounds, she also had a life policy which had matured, too. The air here is so much better than southern England, I'm seriously considering moving here as soon as probate is cleared.

I know just what you mean about the clean air. I miss Northern Ireland so much it just isn't even close to being funny. Not getting there this summer has bummed me out as much as I suspected it would.......but not to the extent of suicide. (I'd find a way there first lol). Anyway, good to hear from you & hope everything works out.
