Non Rev Travel
Posted On 03/25/2009 05:16:05 by Lunarstorm777

So, fun and games are on for my best friend and his family. He's being deployed soon to afghanistan with the army, which of course he's pissed about, but is part of being in the military I suppose..... So, before he gets shipped off to a little slice of hell, he wants to come home for a week to see all of us and have some fun...... Here in lies the problem......

He's been trying to get out of colorado springs for 2 days now on a non rev pass..... Always a dangerous proposition because basically you only get on the plane if no one else has bought a normal ticket and there are open seats...... So, basically every flight has been booked out of COS and even DEN for 2 days now.....  He has taken a flight route that even makes my head hurt and I've non reved for years now......

Denver - Salt Lake city - Las Vegas...... Now he's trying to get from LAS to ATL and ATL to here...... Fun right? So, hopefully he didn't decide to sleep in the airport and took the 1am departure to ATL...... The 6am has more open seats, but its always better to be closer to your destination...... It might be a 2 hour drive, but I could always take the trip and pick him up from ATL if need be.......

Moral of the story? Next time your flying and you think it sucks having a 2 hour lay over in some airport, remember this story and breath lol...... It can always be worse yanno.....

Yea Colorado Springs and Denver airports are ALWAYS busy and impossible to get a flight out of there sometimes! DIA (Denver International Airport) is rated my worst airport!
