I never know what to name my blogs.

We put up some Christmas decorations and I want to vomit because I'm getting this......Christmas spirit thing.

I HATE Christmas. Nobody celebrates Christmas for what it is supposed to be...which by the way, is not Christ's birth. When all of the pagans were converted into Christianity, they just changed the names of all of their holidays.

So really, Christmas is about the rebirth of The Holly King..which is what is celebrated on Yule.. or if you go WAY back to the ancient Romans, Christmas comes from Saturnalia, which is a celebration of that year's abundant harvest.

 

To me Christmas is a holiday that makes you spend all kinds of money that you don't have. Then the family gets together and ruins all the hard work that women put into the holiday by fighting and bitching and hitting each other (okay, maybe the hitting is just from my alcoholic family :D)

But when I see all the purtay lights and garlands and bows I still get that little warm fuzzy feeling that I'm trying to blame on the bile rising to my throat.. Haha.

I don't know how I missed this, but I'm kinda in the middle. Christmas is always just me and mine mom, and we don't do a "religious" thing, it's more like...Thanksgiving, part 2.

I like the pagan thing, I believe in that, and I admit I love the lights. I hate the rude people in the stores, though, all stressed out because as you said, they're spending money they don't have, to impress people they maybe don't even like that much.

So this made no sense.

But the lights are pretty...

Um, I love Christmas.  The only thing I dislike about Christmas is having to send my kids to their dads Christmas day.  Other than that it's my favorite time of year.  We don't have alot of extended family so it is just my children, my mom, me, my dad (who is in a nursing home) and a couple of good friends, so we don't get all that bad feeling sugar and bitching and moaning.  I make Christmas special for my kids, from decorating the tree to Christmas dinner and everything in between.  Christmas, ultimately, is what you make it.  For me it is a special time of reflection, appreciating everyone you love for who they are and enjoying the time together.  Am I making you vomit yet Hillary?

I call Christmas the "let's kill each other on the family meeting" holiday, because that's what usually happens. Every member of my family tries to backstab, hurt, belittle or plainly just insult any other that comes by. So after Christmas nobody talks to the other for months.

I tend to close myself into a room or go out and meet friends... or just pretend to be engrossed with my gifts (books) and read. So far it usually worked. Save for my aunt... who loves to insult people just because, so she hunts me down to give me a taste of her Christmas spirit.

I hear you. What makes me more sick is all of the other special interests groups fighting for their recognition during Christmas.  Give me a break!  It's not a GENERAL religious celebration, it is a Christian celebration.  And if you feel left out, too bad.  Other religions have their celebrations.  Sorry if the majority of the country is Christian.

"But I feel left out" "But I don't believe in Christ"  OK, SO WHAT????  I am not a Jew, but I don't bitch about their holidays. 

PC is KILLING our culture!!!!!  And for anyone from Australia reading this.... Ho- Ho- Ho!!!  :-)

The fighting, bitching and hitting happen alot when I go to my husbands side of the family. I hate it. Most times I wanna bawl everytime that we get together. His family is a bunch of asshole drunks when they get together. It's hard.

I try to stay out of it when a fight arises, BUT ya know I am a redhead and after awhile I can't stay out of it anymore!
