Pissy Rainy New Year's Eve Eve

The missus and I just finished a pitcher of margueritas at viva pancho! across the street. Saw the teenager to the door of the hotel early because she couldn't wait to get back on IM with the pals back home. She bent over to pick something up in the middle over the road and we thought she dropped the key. Turns out it was a $50.

Ah Marguerita. How I love thee. And so close to "home"! Prompting this propfound observation from ther missus: no celebriites get  scandalized for drugs & drinking in NY. Because no one drives!

We were all sortsa deep up inside Queens & Brooklyn today, Park Slope & Forest Hills irrespectively, trying to figure out where we're gonna live someday, tempted to make someday more like tomorrow. I love this motherscratching city. 

Didn't walk nearly as much as the last two days. Probably no more than 3 hours total. Thank got. Because me and the teenager are getting pissy with aching feet and blisters. The missus though, wot a trooper, she'd outwalk any of you. She'd turn a death march into a party parade. She'd put a smile on the Trail of Tears.

Then, because we could, we went to see the Rocketettes' Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall (I know. I know. I hate tourists too), which was both frightening and touching. Frightening because of what the specialists are terming the "rockette rictus", notable not only on many of the Rockettes but also on 9 out of ten corpses.

But touching because Santa said he loved us. You think I'm kidding. I got misty.

Then we walked around in the rain for half an hour looking for a dinner none of us could agree on. Until we settled for Viva Pancho. Which wasn't settling at all after half a marguerita. wheeeee!

We're going back to ABC home tomorrow and I'm gonna blow a metric shinola-ton of money on whatever the snap I feel like. Get it all outta my system in 2006. That'll cure my leg-ache. As the Huey door-gunner said in Full Metal Jacket, Git some!
