I got canceled again today.. Bella's at the grandparents' on accounta the "incident" last night. Tim's at Ada's. I don't know what to do with myself. I'm never by myself anymore so it's weird..haha.
So I'll ramble on about Kurt Vonnegut, as I am currently reading Wampters, Foma and Granfalloons, which is a collection of various articles, short stories, speeches, etc of his. There are quite a few interesting anectdotes of his in it.
For example, the Boston Strangler had actually offered to show Vonnegut's daughter his marijuana patch, where later the dead bodies were found. She had thankfully refused.
He visited Biafra for a week and witnessed its takeover. He writes, "We discovered that if we lets our hands dangle down among the children, a child would grasp each finger or thumb - five children to a hand. A finger from a stranger, miraculously, would allow a child to stop crying for a while." These children were crying because they suffered from kwashiorkor (a disease caused by malnutrition, that resulted from a blockade put on Biafra...because Biafra was wanted for its oil), which made them look like this:
