I'm starting to get into Hunter S. Thompson. I read his "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" and am currently reading "Generation of Swine: Tales of Shame and Degradation in the 80's".

I also enjoy fantasy/sci-fi books. A few of my favorite authors would be Terry Goodkind, Douglas Adams, and L.E. Modesisett Jr. I also enjoyed the Harry Potter series (Thanks middle shcool!)

Hi! I am Alyssa and I recently moved to Lansing from a TINY town outside Port Huron. I am currently attending Lansing Community College (hence the move). I am a freshman, but this is my second year in college. I began my education at Baker College of Port Huron in the Interpreter Training Program only to find after a year of school that the program is far from up to par. I got a lot of experience even if it was expensive. I then put in for a transfer to LCC summer '07. I was accepted, but none of my credits from Baker were so I am starting from the beginning.

Right now I work at the ghetto McDonald's of Lansing with a bunch of convicts and high school drop outs and most unfortunately, my time at Barnes & Noble came to an end. The first few months being on my own have been nothing short of eventful, stressful, enjoyable, hated, amazing, and eye-opening. May the next months be just as great!

Speaking of next months and the winter season that is now upon us, my new apartment is very drafty and I happen to be dating a great furnace, Bill, who doesn't mind laying on the window side of the bed and absorbing all the incoming frigid winter air. And on top of that (like he said) I have given in to peer pressure and have a new found Steak & Shake addiction and just so everyone knows, I still don't like swiss cheese. Beyond Steak & Shake and cold winds its been a battle living two hours away but you make it all work!

I am a dancer of 12 years (tap, jazz, and lyrical and 4 years on the high school dance team). I love being on stage and performing for a crowd and miss it terribly. I was recently in a musical called Nunsense II. I played Sister Mary Leo - one of the Little Sisters of Hoboken with dreams of being the first Nun ballerina. I've been in a few other productions but most of my performances have been recitals, competitions, and a few things with the choir at church.

I'm a major fan of Sudoku puzzles, logic puzzles and Fill-It In puzzles (which I can never seem to find any more). I love playing Canasta and one of these days would like to learn Euchre. I also enjoy Blackjack but only when I'm beating Bill's ass.

I love dancing above anything, playing pool (even though I'm not that great), frequenting the local beaches (before I moved), walking in the rain (only when its warm out), long drives to no where, sleeping under the stars, reading, and going to the air shows at Selfridge.
