I have found a new obsession in indie bands today. And, I can say without hesitation, Azure Ray is one of my new favourites.
Listening to Sleep makes me feel all kinds of melancholy... but the good kind of melancholy. The melancholy that makes you want to fix a cup of personalized chai with extra cinnamon.... wrap yourself in a large fluffy blanket and curl up with a good book. To be honest, it is the same feeling I feel when I listen to Imogen Heap's Hide and Seek... and Billie Holiday's Gloomy Sunday.
Maybe it's odd for a song... or rather several songs to make me feel all kinds of melancholy... and actually enjoy the feeling it brings. I mean, any one else wouldn't enjoy the heavy feeling and the sudden urge to be alone... to think... or to read... or to write... whatever inspires at the moment. But, I absolutely without a doubt love every bit of it.
