Two Weeks from Now...
Posted On 07/17/2007 13:38:02 by Photographer

I'm moving... and I'm so incredibly terrified.  And I know people keep telling me that I'll do just fine... and I'll get used to being on my own.  I mean, "College is such a great experience and opportunity!"  But... I'm scared.

My mother has already started to decorate my room...  before I even move out.  And... my dad isn't even acknowledging that I'm even moving... I can't even begin to explain how much I'll miss my two year old nephew.  He's going to turn three next month and I'm going to miss his birthday because I'll be in Stillwater.

Anyways, before I make myself seriously depressed.. I should finish doing my make up and hair.. I'm going to go vintage store shopping with the girls... and go to open mic night at the Gypsy coffeehouse tonight.  I should make the best of it while I still can.

XOXO,
Alicia

Yes, I understand you are no longer a child, I meant it figuratively-What I meant about your childhood it that you will no longer live with Your Family, The big jump being creating Your own home environment & infrastructure for yourself-very exciting, but I agree, at times very lonely(phones/IM are wonderful things) You will meet new people faster than you imagine, many just like yourself, away from home, friends, family...the World awaits.

See, that's the thing.  I'm not pining about my "childhood"... since I already make all my decisions already.  My parents don't "ground" me for being out late... I tell them I'm going out and go... and I only do that in courtesy since I still live with them.  Otherwise, I wouldn't.  I just will miss my family and friends while I'm away.  I don't want to be lonely all the time. ;)  If I knew that I had friends when I got there like the best friends here... I wouldn't be so scared. ;)

Change often creates anxiety, but change will happen no matter what.

Being Afraid of something happening in your life isn't as frightful when you examine your fears.  Ask yourself,

"What EXACTLY am I afraid of?"

Make a list. Making a list helps me take stock of what seems to be bothering me.

Be honest with yourself, the answers will help.

God you do not realize how exciting this portion of your life is going to be, still pining away for what is ending...your 'childhood'!

Wow, I remember the exultation of my first steps into the world my own.  Damn, those were the days.

Making your own decisions and making your own way in the world ROCKS!
