Chat rooms

I used to frequent chat rooms all the time when I first got online with an AOL account. I even was a chat host at one time for about a 4-5 year period of time and then I got sick of it. It was at a time when chat rooms were monitored closely in public chat rooms. In private rooms, you could type whatever you want.

I've noticed a lot of you create blogs to chat in a sense. Wouldn't it be a great idea if the site had a chat room where you could see everyone who was in the room.  It would be like an expanded shoutbox, only that those who are actually in the room could see your text. Those not in the chat room, could not see it.  Maybe in time, there will be something like this on the site and your text wouldn't be permanent. It would disappear when the room is empty.

I think that would be a great idea. I would like to know who is in the chat room and whether or not there are some that go to the blog and read and know what is going on, but don't show that they are there. I know that we have had problems with this when he did a online chat amongst a few of us. That irritates the shinola out of me.
