Gingerphobes piss me off

I came close to punching a woman at the grocers today. She stopped to coo at my baby daughter and asked, "Is this your first child?" I said no, this was my second and pointed to The Mister and my son down the aisle as they got things off our list. The woman suddenly beamed a smile and said, "Oh! Good! At least one of them isn't a redhead, and besides this one has really dark red hair, so that's not so bad." I was wearing my big black hat and had my hair pulled up into a white lace cingion so she could not see my hair. I just stared at her as she walked off. WTF?! Usually I can come up with some snappy nasty retort but I was so stunned I couldn't come up with anything. F****** GINGERPHOBES piss me off...

i feel the same way when i see a redhead lady with darker haired kids, its like a scene out of aliens versus predators movie.we need more redhead kids

I agree with the others. feck her. My kids are older now but I was always amazed at the idiotic things people would say to someone with toddlers in tow.

Normally I'm restrained, but that kind of casual intolerance regarding a minority I'm not even a part of really gets my Irish up. I probably would have given her what we Star Trek fans refer to as "The Great Bird of the Galaxy."

OMG! that's INCREDIBLE!!    I have never seen or heard of anyone saying that kind of thing around here...  Kids are tough on gingers, but NEVER have I seen an adult act like that!

I have heard that about the baby not having red hair in other circumstances too and once even from a red head who tints her hair colour blonde who knows I am a red head!  I was quite startled when that came my way as you certainly must have been. As I gazed up at her she came back with 'but it looks nice on your though'.  Pretty weak huh?
