The "F" Word……..
No, no, not that F word, though that one is interesting also. I'm talking about having the "friend" talk with an over smothering boyfriend.
Ok, is it me? Right now I am just on happily…ever after has nothing to do with ANY of this!! Why do I attract the ones who want ever after, AFTER, 2 dates! Why aren't they with the women who are desperate to have a man commit? I just want to have them committed! Bloody hell.
Ok, so, I'll just keep using fake names as I write about dating escapades. Oh, brother! (pouring another glass of wine) On to Mark (have I dated a Mark?) Anyway, a few of you have met Mark, he's a sweetheart, adorable, attentive, fascinating job, sad puppy eyes and I swear if I get those sad puppy eyes one more time I'm gonna slap him!
Now, back to the F word. Mark sent flowers and used the 4 letter "L" word on me! Run away, run away!!! Bloody hell…have I said bloody hell?
We sit down to have the friend talk: all you girls know what I'm talking about and the men are gritting their teeth and adjusting their shorts at the thought! Mark looked at me with those puppy eyes and I wanted to roll up a newspaper and smack him on the nose! Did I say bloody hell?
I explained the whole divorce verses widow thing (please see blog before this) and how I just need to learn to be by myself, blah, blah, blah, blah blah. Which is exactly what your pet hears when you yell at them for getting into the garbage…Fluffy, bad dog, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, Fluffy, blah, blah!!
I got a blank stare! Ok, Mark, which part didn't you get? We'll still do stuff together, be friends and friends stay together. At least I didn't have to deal with the sex stuff! Friends don't have SEX!!
Now his job will take him 1200 miles away. He'll have something to think about or hit on someone else…..I can only hope!
