I've just written this as a post on the forum for the festival I'm going to.. I wanted to go to night, however dure to kitchen issues i have to be in my flat.. I was hoping to get off tonight.. however.. I have a friend who is there already..
It's called Knockengorroch - The Hairth (which in galic means Heart)
"the heart of the hills"
I'ts a roots/world/celtic/allsorts kinda gig, cool reggea sound system, top people and music that you can experience rather than listen too..
There are bands and there are bands.. Some bands i've seen ive never seen or hear anyting like it..
Anyone who wants to know more here's the link http://www.knockengorroch.org.uk
and my thoughts for people already there...
There's people there isn't there..
All tented up and walking around..
sounds of the river and people around.
I'm stuck in my flat,
there's a whir of my computer fan
and some drips from a tap,
oh,
and the sound of my cat purring
as she sits on my lap.
I can imagine some flags,
bright colours and green.
string lights,
bulb along as a walkway at night.
Tonight they may see
stars,
a few planets,
like venus and mars.
Unfortunately for me I cannot see
the stars,
a few planets,
like venus and mars
not because of streetlights oh no no suree.
It's because there's is a huge ruddy great rain a cloud hovering everything that I see.
I knew from a friend who was on the way there who said..
"??? it's started spitting" in a reasonable despair.
I have now come to realise while sitting in my chair,
quite warm and nice,
that it's ???ing pissing it down out side.
so yay for me as I'm sat in my flat.
I now empathise with those who are in tents
or out side, and huddled round a fire.
With that in my mind I know where I'd rather be
I can do that here,
I can imagine,
I can project,
I don't even have to move,
or even get wet.
When tomorrow comes and I can be on my way,
to the place in the hills
where people come to play,
children of all ages for some happy days.
Peace to you all on this rainy night,
see you tomorrow with love and it's light
