So yesterday was yet another day of traversing the state in hopeful service of the 'puter Dogs.
See, what had happened was...now I can't remember where I left off, in the other (novella-length, sorry) bloggie.
BRB.
Ok, so I left off on Friday night, with the looking forward to picking up the new computer Saturday afternoon.
What I SHOULD have done was open that new hard disk enclosure to see if it was the right one for my rescued hard drive (it was NOT).
So we went down to Circuit City yesterday afternoon and picked up the computer.
Got it home, got it set up, and then tried to put my harddisk in the new case.
Guess what?
Yep, didn't fit/wrong connection thingie.
So I checked out Microcenter again (should have just gone there for it in the beginning) and called to see if they had what I needed in stock and yep they did so mom and I ate, then I see this email from my friend Amy that Tirzah's birthday thingie is THAT NIGHT.
So I call her at 615 p.m. scared that the party's at 7, but it was at 9. Whew, ya know? Told her I'd try to get there but that mom and I were on the way to the puter store.
Anyway, we drive all the way back to Microcenter, harddisk in tow and wow I love that place.
Not only did they find the right one, the guy put my harddrive INTO it AND they tested it for me.
SCARY moment when it wouldn't show up on the PC but then I told them the size of the drive and they said that's normal; then the drive started showing up and going away. Then it showed up on the Mac and so then away we go'd but I'd have been way late to the party if I'd taken mom all the way home so I dragged her along to the surprise party with me.
First we stopped and I got Tirzah a card and some purple gladiolus (SO pretty) then we got there early and we hung out in the car, then we went in and mom decided to get a desert, then they showed and it was so nice to see everyone and Tirzah was happy that I showed for her b-day, and so we hung out and talked and when mom was done with her cookie we left and then when I got home guess what?
THE DRIVE WORKED!
AND it looks so far as if I've not lost anything on the harddrive, so I'm pretty happy.
Was up all night copying files and burning disks :)
So there's that.
