Yes, yes, I'm very old, whatever, that I very vaguely remember the original Disney version of that movie which I do believe they showed us at summer camp.
Or was it Herbie the Love Bug?
The Parent Trap?
Whatev, I do know we learned the dance "The Freddy."
Yep. Ancient. Get over it
So anyway: Animal Update!
Zoey (Zo-Kitty, PeppahSue, ZOO) has been bringing me presents almost every night lately. There's this tiny stuffed dog, see, maybe 2 inches long and 1.5 inches high, and when you squeeze it, it lights up red and says "I WUFF oo, woof woof."
It was a keychain, yo.
Anyway, she's adopted it (along with a WAY too big for her-how DOES she carry it little neon orange stuffed football), and has brought it to me the last three nights. When I pick it up, its head is damp, which for some reason tickles me magenta.
She actually woke me up one night, because she announces her gifts in this pretty little voice that is quite unlike her normal "speaking" voice.
I honestly...Thisbe was MY cat from day one and one of the most special of the animals I've every had and I will treasure her memory and the memories of every cat I've every had, but...Zoey is The. Cutest. Cat I've ever had.
She's just freaking hilarious. Her twisty-turny body language, her kangaroo jumps, the way she sleeps in the rocking chair with her head on the tiny purple and white Hello Kitty toy we got her, the way she is just now starting to let us pick her up for a few seconds at a time (without stiffening right away, you understand), the way she FLIES though the house, the way she bites when she's really happy (I know but it's cute, shup), the way she crawls and climbs and flops and slides all over me when I pet her and really get her going...it just adds up to Cutest. Cat. EVAH (except of course for YOUR cat, if you do indeed have one, I know how it is).
Frankie? (Pain-Koe, Fankles, Frankenstein, Franklin)
Eeeeeeeeeeeeee VILLE.
This dude, I mean, wow.
He's so freaking funny. The cats have a collection of maybe ten made-specifically-for-cats cat toys which he "safe deposits" under the stove. Once every few days he reminds me to get 'em out, which I diligently do (I'm trained) with the yard stick (which he thinks is a chew-toy). He then proceeds to play (alone, which is just the funniest thing I've ever seen) with each one in turn, trilling and chirping, running and jumping and playing hockey all over the kitchen, until he's done, at which time he bats each one under the stove again.
He also gives kisses to toes and is allowed to "sneak" out the back door periodically to "go for a spin." That is, he lays down on the step and rolls over and over and over back and forth.
Going for a spin, get it?
He does sommersaults a lot.
They still sleep sometimes, Frankie and Zoey, face-to-face with their arms around each other, and they both adore Dulci to the exclusion of me.
My feelings aren't hurt.
Are not.

Frankie still kneads the hell out of that oh-so-patient-kitty-mommy dog, and Zoey now alternates between climbing all over Dulci and rubbing against her nose until Dulci cleans Zoey's ears and curling up on her tail for a snooze.
Almost every night, I look over, and Dulci is sleeping flat on her back, legs splayed, with a cat on either side of her.
Linus, my love, my best dog, is pure sweetness. He's just...he's so lovely. He's blowing his coat again, and he's had a little arthritis lately, but he's still able and willing to romp with Dulci in the back yard. And in the house.
The other night Dulci and Frankie were wrestling (I've overused the word "cute" but you get the idea) and it got Dulci so worked up she ZOOMED around the kitchen/dining room/living room/hallway/den/kitchen circle at least ten times with Linus chasing her.
Puppy scoots, like she used to, with her back end low, and just zooming as fast as she could.
Liney was hot on her tail and the cats were watching from the safety of the couch.
It was funny
