SATURDAY 7 FEBRUARY – Woken up industrious. Time to finally extract the thoughts from my dozing brain and translate the scribbles blu-tacked on the wall. My key aim for this year is to put together a mobile studio – laptop with mobile broadband – and launch a website blog and photography gallery. I need to compile a business plan which my primary support team can attach to applications for funding. Stressy and exciting. I’ve spent six months spinning things round, creating this name and that, working out costs – and how best to present the idea. This is the one main thing that can keep me clean and serene, positive thinking, instil a sense of confidence and ambition. I’ve been too long in the wilderness, struggling to find answers let alone achieve solutions. My other target for this year is to finally meet my daughter who lives in France, she turned 18 last year and I’ve been away for 17 of those! Not good, but recovery from my Dual-Diagnosis I hope will provide me with the everyday tools to make life easier and less complicated, that I can walk on and let things go. Resist the urges, temptations and distractions. I only need £1300 funding, but as every addict knows, you need to regain trust and fight for your corner in the face of adversity. You’ve got to prove you’re the best option out of a pile of applications. It ain’t gonna be difficult to turn back, but it will take everything I have left in me to succeed. Health. Family. Self-worth. The future. Me and???
