Is this really a "Forum" post???
Seems Bloggy to me.
Plus Badburn needs a course on genetics...logic is flawed.
2 reddest couple will not guarantee red offspring.
Red hair can originate from several different changes on the MC1R-gene. If one of these changes is present on both chromosomes then the respective individual is likely to have red hair. This type of inheritance is described as an autosomal recessive mode of inheritance. Even if both parents may not have red hair themselves they both can be carriers for the gene and have a redheaded child.
So any couple no matter what hair color that "carry the gene" can produce red haired offspring.
According to Mendel, recessive traits are preseved at a ratio of 1 to 4.
Which means... 25% chance of red hair when the genes are present....
that however is an average over many people. So it could be 6% to 32%,
with the luck of the Irish being at the high end.
