Yeah, I've been thinking about this a lot.

Rather, DREAMING CONSTANTLY about it, cuz, well, the money sitch is getting to the "know any good bankruptcy lawyers?" level (yes, TMI, I do it all the time so sue me TOO LATE )

Anyway.

When I can't deal (which seems to be very OFTEN, lately) I plan out my money shiz, for when I win.

Yeah, I said "when;" I'm a dreamer; I must be, to survive.

First?

Half to mom.

Second?

Hire a top-notch, proven CPA.

Third?

Call EVERY damn ONE of my creditors, including the IRS, and say, everso casually, "What do I owe you exactly? Let's do a check by phone, yes?"

THEN...

Wow...can you even imagine the FREEDOM?

Well, I'd buy me and mom that great house I saw in Castle Rock; it's a great huge duplex-type thingie with a gigantor yard.

Get her set up with nursing care or whatever, make a goodly way to have our privacy but let the animals run back and forth (cuz verily they do love us both), and get me a riding mower.

Buy lots of plants OHMYDOG I'd go nuts at the nursery.

I'd be dirty for DAYS!

Then I'd go to Costa Rica for a yoga retreat. Quit smoking, eat healthy, do the yoga thang, get me some of that "centered" sh.it working.

THEN!

Oh this is the fun part.

Cashiers checks.

Gotta friend back east could use some financials.

Check.

Gotta friend across the pond could use some medicals.

Check.

Gotta friend up north could use some independence.

Check.

Gotta friend up northeast could use some college funding.

Check and check.

Gotta few artistical friends could use some sponsorhip.

Check, check, etc., check.

Then...art classes. Lots of 'em.

TONS, even.

Painting, drawing, all media, all modes, all everything.

Oh man, that would be HEAVEN.

Buy top-of-the-line BLAZING fast Mac and just rock OUT with the bitch.

Spend literally THOUSANDS at Meininger's art store OH I'm almost drooling just thinking about it.

You'd never get me OFF here, fair warning.

OH and just HOURS writing.

I'd SO write.

Oooo then I'd get the dogs groomed, like, professionally (Linus has MUCH too much hair with which mere mortals can contend).

And get them into the vet for a FULL checkup and fix EVERYTHING that's wrong.

Buy me some BIRDIES!!

Get them pesky ovarian cysts out.

Wow. That would boulder, hardcore.

Ooo then buy me a Karman Ghia (I'm off the new mini cooper, it's too common, but I'd still hunt up an original and paint it coppery-orange).

OOOO then volunteer work. I think I'd like Habitat for Humanity and Humane Society and those places where disabled children ride horses.

I'd love that.

Then TRAVEL!

Visit all ya'll's asses, bringing wine and gifties and whatever else ya wanted.

Then the ultimate: A HUGE redhedded gathering at my new digs.

Everyone invited, a party-all-weekend affair, everyone with a band would be invited to play, it would be lovely.

Yeah. Dreamer.

Extremely DETAILED dreamer, and what of it?

So what? Keeps me (relatively) sane, so shoosh.

What would YOU do, seriously, with lottery money?

AND the most important thing, that I almost forgot (Hot Damn 100 is doing the Vidocin's work tonight cuz I gotta start hoarding them again) is:

Set up a foundation.

Or two.

Maybe three.

First: get homeless people that REALLY want help off the street (if you're interested in this, let me know, I've posted it elsewhere but I can't remember now, maybe Firebrain group).

Thing is, I'd buy a huge building and get apartments set up and the people would work on their apartments as they lived there and apprentice to carpenters and plumbers and contractors to learn skills and if that held no interest then they'd work in the office or whatever or do job training and/or volunteer work. So, not a gifty thingie, but a "here, work and live here, and learn, and get back on your feet" kinda thingie.

Second foundation: Foreclosure Faerie.

Wherein I'd swoop in with anonymous money to help out people on the verge of losing their homes. Pure gift, no payback, just kind of a "wow, I'm saved" kind of a thingie.

Third foundation: let ME pay off your student loans!

'Nuff said.

Yeah, I need all the money in the world

Awwwww, Jules... such a kindred spirit! That is lovely, everything- and even with all the stuff for you no one could say indulgent, even a smidge; NAY! Quite selfless, tis why I love you *sigh* MUWAH!!!!

While I would do similar things- helping my parents out with the business, putting my sister through school, buying houses for the homeless... one rather large expenderature in the near future would seem far less daunting...

MEDICAL SCHOOL...... pay that bitch off in full!!!!!!!!!

5th. New comp

6th. Start my own airline.

7th. New car.

8th...... Well after that the rest would go to good causes.

Oh I love all the responses and Jules, my Muffin, you are amazing.

I'd do similar things, bills for sure, set up trust for my kids education, house, go to universty,  ensure everyone dear to me was taken care of and have one big ass redhedd party, go visit my brother in OZ. invest into my community - programs for youth etc.  Oh it would be so wonderful not to have that burden of not knowing how you will pay that next creditor.

Dare to dream. Cancer research.

If I won the lottery right now, I would give half to my soon-to-be-ex-wife.  It wasn't for lack of love on my part that she is leaving.  If it was after the divorce is finalized, I'd still give her a significant sum.

I'd give my mother a new car that is reliable.

I'd quit my job and go back to university for grad school.

I'd learn judo and other martial arts.

I'd buy and read all the books on my Amazon wishlist.  All of them.

I'd build a monolithic dome so that I can sleep through tornados.

I'd hire an au pair to help me with my son while I go to school.

I'd take the bar exam, pass, and spend many hours working on legal causes for those who don't have enough money to get legal help.

I'd like to become a nomadic lawyer like Cain in Kung Fu, righting wrongs.

If I won the lottery?

Pay off all my debts, move somewhere where there is good air and no traffic - a barn conversion in the Cotswolds would be great.

A huge great ocean going Sunseeker motor yacht is there with my name on it, enroll on a course and earn my masters ticket, then take that sucker out on a redhead world cruise.

The fastest Mac money can buy with EVERYTHING bolted on to it.

As for cars, An Aston Martin Vanquish S in royal blue, a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti in Rosso red (what a surprise) as well as a Daimler Speed 8 (for the times I need to waft to London)

That still leaves a wad of cash left over.

A red head foundation - what ever your problem the foundation is there to help.

It's a start - now I'm gonna go out and buy a lottery ticket for tonight

1st I would start an all Redhead TV Channel. . . nothing but beautiful redheads 24hours a day.

Then I would start an all Redhead Modeling Agency. . . I'll have offices in Scotland, Ireland, Sweden, Australia, New York, and L.A.

3rd I would start an all Redhead Magazine. . . It will be like a cross between "Entertainment Weekly" and "Vogue". It will have all the actresses and models from my TV Channel and Modeling Agency.

Also I would make sure people in my family have nice homes and whatnot.

1.)First I would pay off my mom's debts and get her a house in Ely Minnesota with alot of land. Then I would pay off my dad's debts and get him a house wherever he wanted with some land for his dog, Will. I would give them both extra money so they didn't have to work. I would get my dad counceling and help for his issues.

2.)Then I would buy myself about 1000 acres and build a house. On the rest of the land I would have buildings for rescued animals.

3.)Take private Tai Chi Chuan and Yoga lessons every day.

4.)Get a personal cook and eat only vegan food.

5.)Donate to the WWF

6.)Fund Lupus research, for my brother.

7.)Get my eyes fixed so I don't have to wear glasses or contacts.

8.)Get a team together of "pet psychics/animal communicators", horse trainers who work by gentling a horse(not the traditional breaking), and find the perfect jockey, exercise riders, groomers, stable hands, ect.... I would show people if you treat racehorses well and find one who actually wants to race then they will win more money and not hurt themselves or die.

9.)With the racing money I win I would build a memorial to all the racehorses who died because of cruel racing practices.
