Energy saving lght bulb?
Some of you will remember a few years ago, when the Government told us we had to get rid of our old mercury filld thermometers. What happened to them? Where did they go?
When you buy your new "energy saving light bulb" read the package. You will see they are filled with, yes, mercury. I thought mecury was bad for us. Get rid of the mecury thermometer they said. Now we are told to buy dangerous mecury filled light bulbs?
I have tried these curly things that are suppose to last five years. HA! What a joke. They cost seven or eight dollars a bulb and didnt last any longer than regular bulbs from the Dollar store. How many millions or these dangerous bulbs will fill our land fills and contaminate our ground water in the years to come?
Maybe they do save energy, I'm all for saving energy. You just better not break one.

I'm with you Jules, I had no idea that there were mercury in them.
Actually I think they lasy just as long as a regular bulb, so why spend $7 or $8 on a light bulb that is going to last just as long as a regular one, AND has mercury in it!
Makes no sense to me!
