Site FAQs

Q: What are the stars next to my profile pic about?
A: Stars are an indication of points, which are awarded for site participation; blogging, uploading pics, commenting, messaging, et cetera. The more you play, the we pay.

Q: Are stars worth anything?
A: In an ideal world, sure, all our efforts would be awarded in direct corollary proportion to the joy we receive in expending them. Here at Redhedd however, you can blog & comment & message to your little heart's content, and all the thanks you'll get is a lousy t-shirt. For each 1000 stars awarded, you will be awarded one redhedd.com t-shirt. All of which is just the long way of saying that when you reach a thousand points, message Steve and ask him to send you a shirt!

Q: My star sign's wrong! WTF, Chico-man?
A: The site puts birthdates in the date/month/year format, rather than the month/date/year most frequently used in the U.S. So most likely, if your birthday is March 7th, 1970 and your star sign says you're a Cancer and you're getting happy birthdays greetings from other members on July 3rd... well then, you know what to do.

Q: How do I upload pictures?
A: Pictures must be in either .gif or .jpg format. Go to "My account" > "Submit Items" > Submit Pictures"

Q: I'm trying to upload pics, but keep getting an error that my pic is over the 1600 pixel limit. What do I do?
A: You need to use photo editing software to resize your picture. There are plenty of free apps out there, so if you don't have one already, just google "free photo editing software", download that bad boy, and resize your image to 1600 pixels wide or less.

Q: How do I customize my profile?
A: To edit your personal "about me" information, go to "My account" > "Settings" > "Profile Settings". To change the colors and layout of your profile, go to "My Account" > "Settings" > "Design My Profile." Have fun!

Q: Do I have to have a map pinpointing my location on my profile? It kinda freaks me out.
A: If it makes you feel any better, Google does not have your physical location pinpointed, but rather some seeming arbitrary spot within the town you specify in your profile. But to answer your question, no. You have the option to turn it off in your profile settings: "My Account"> "Settings" > "Profile Settings."

Q: How do I delete my account?
A: Go to "My account" > "Settings" > "Account Settings" and click the "Cancel Account" link.

Q: Wait. I still don't get it.
A: No worries, my Internet-challenged redheaded friend. Your friendly neighborhood site staff have got your back. If you have any further questions please ask Hillaryperson, JuWells, Lizziedrip, or sinsin for a little help from your friends. They'r here to answer any questions, no matter how...challenging.
