Hello again.

So... my little Max the Maine Coon left last Tuesday (when I wasn't working) so I did the report card for him and Mittens, cuz I didn't get to say goodbye. I guess the lady was pissed that they were in the same run together but chilled out when she was told that whenever they were let out to go to the sunroom, Mittens would go over and hang out with Max in HIS room.

A week ago these people brought in Callie, a Rottie/Golden mix (she is the size and  body confirmation and hair length/hair texture of a small Golden but black and tan like a Rottie, a really interesting and beautiful mix). I was keeping an eye on her cuz she was in the indoor/outdoor runs and she'd never go out and I wanted to make sure the dogs on either side of her weren't bullying her (they weren't, she was just either sad or too hot and hanging out inside). EHNyhoooooo, so yesterday they came to get her and she'd had a bath and WOW she was just a glamour girl (and she KNEW it). Super soft and fluffy tail and SO happy. I went to bring her down and she jumped up on me and just held onto my waist with her front legs and laid her head against my chest and I just melted. What a great hugger she is. I figured her mom and dad could wait a few seconds so I just held her for awhile. WHAT a sweet dog :)

Thursday a guy brought in a Shih Tzu named Harley, what a cutie. He just handed her to me to take back and she instantly put her head on my shoulder, so of course I was in love. He marvelled that, as sweet as she is, she's never given a kiss. I assured him that many people appreciate that and talked about how when MY dogs lick (which they do very often) it's not always pleasant due to the hugeness of their tongues, lol.

So I take her back, and I go to set her down and she wasn't having any of it. I never knew it would be difficult to put a dog down! She was kinda backpedaling and using her paws to prevent me from letting go of her. Poor little girl (translation:  WHAT an actress!) didn't wanna be left alone. So I held her for a few more minutes, then finally was able to put her down.

Dogs are crack ups, as are cats. We have a cat named Leo right now who plays a MEAN game of peekaboo! He's all black but with white paws and a white chin, and he's long haired and slim and just very cool looking. I was outside, evilly smoking, and I was playing peekaboo with him around the window dividers. He's really good at it :)

So all the week before last week my calves were totally seizing up. They were just tight as drums and very sore. I've always had over-developed calves (I blame a paper route when I was eleven) and when they get a lotsa exercise, they protest at first. This past week was much better but for a while there I was thinking I'd not be able to do this job.

My pecs are sore as shiznit. too, from all the dogs pulling. It pulls me into this kinda hunchback posture and my pectoral muscles (and whatever they're called in the back, under the shoulder blades) have just been very tender lately. As of this morning only the right side was tender, so hopefully I'm getting used to it.

Chester the pug came again (MOOOOOOOSHER OMG so cute!!), and TeeDee the terrier (sproing! sproing! sproing!) and Daisy and Lily the HUMONGOID black-and-white and dark grey-and-white Great Danes came the other day when I was there alone. Daisy was doing this growly talky thing as she leaned against me, and her mom said she was talking, but it was also a little growly so I took my hands off her, and she popped up and slobbered my right shoulder, hehe.

Hey, at least she didn't go for my neck

So I take them back and put them in their run and they start sproinging like TeeDee. It was like their front legs were suddenly on springs, silly girls.

I didn't get to touch a lotta dogs this week cuz Lisa was running them while I did the check in and out, but those are the few that stood out :)

Calves are much better, as is my butt and my chest, but I've not checked to see if more weight is gone. I just feel better, and that's the important thing :)
