Is it just my genes, or is it all redheads who find that things like fleas and small bugs love to feast on your blood - leaving you with scars that take forever to fade away?

My nan was a redhead and used to get bitten a lot, but, being a member of my family, it could be biased.

This is just out of curiosity, really. Any experience on the matter, please let me know. Cheers. :-)

I think you're right.  That or you and I and your Nan just taste good.

I'm not so sure if its the red hair or the fair skin that attracts insects.  My Dad is fair skinned and not a redhead and mosquitoes love him just as much as they love me.

We have triple E and West Nile virus in my area, so in the summer I can't go outside at night in the yard unless I'm covered with bug repellant.

My Grandpa, father and me always get bitten, all redheads with freckles and fair skin.  Over here we get a lot of midges and gnats in the summer and one is tempted, because of the hot sunny weather, to go bare-armed.  I don't but the bugs always seem to target my face, usually above my eyebrows! As for fleas, yep they just love my rich blood!

Do not meddle in the affairs of redheaded dragons, you are crunchy & tasty with ketchup!! Ginger cats will pee on your computer & wizards will change you into something red that says 'Oook'! So you get eaten, blown up or transmogrified - your choice!

I do not know if it is the red hair or the fiar skin, But yes...I often get bit more than others in my family that aren't redheads. Mosquitos seem to love me.

For some reason, yet thankfully, I never ever get bitten on my face. I think it might be because that's the only part of me that ever sees the sun and so is less fair. My legs are always covered if I've been in a field or a tent. _

Mosquitoes seem to love me. I don't know if it's necessarily my skin. It might even be my blood type. I don't know.

Whenever I'm out in the woods with friends or family I'm the one who gets bitten.

I've got a few right now, and it's winter :|

The scars don't fade very easily either.

Hey louise and others, i used to get bitten on the face and legs, mainly around sept. Two things can help it stop. Reduce your dietry sugar intake around the humid times of year when insects thirve, so no choc, or junk food.

Secondly it's been proven that some vitimin B's make you give off a sent like plants, which is only noticeable to insects, they really leave you alone. These two tricks conbined have saved me getting bitten since 2001 and i've lost fat from my gut as a bonus.

so give it a try, or carry on tearing and bleeding the itchy lumps.
