ok, we have had this convo a couple of times before, i no it, but, i talked about this for hour last night and now i'm more confused then ever! what defines as a race? religious beliefs? ethnisity? humanity is a race in its self so what really defines it? If hitler was so racist then that would mean that religon is what defines it, or the blonde hair, blue eyes being a perfect race would make is the colour of our hair.... and i wa told last night that i was from a different race, but then when i pointed out that to of my brothers have brown hair and you cant have to blood related different races in the one family, he kind of piped down a bit and if it is religon that seperates us, which is a lot of how it looks these days, when i am a different race to both grand parents because i'm not a catholic and they are. so i ask once again, what is it? and what are your views?

I think we are a race, but a politically correct world wouldn't let us believe so. All redheads have similar traits, same with asians, blacks, other whites, etc.

We are a different race! One can spot the redhead gene anywhere that skin meets sun. Brunettes and blondes that carry the gene cannot hide it! it is an orange pink... hue that appears on the palm of our hands and the soles of our feet! Much like black people. I am as red as we get but I have a black friend who teases me every summer because I get darker than him! Hope this helps.

Hmmm... I think it has a little bit to do with everyone of those options; religious beliefs, appearance; all of the above.
But, so far, it seems that races are split mostly because of skin colour.
I think we should be our own race; we have paler skin, a rare hair colour, we could SO pull it off if we tried.
I'm not sure how to make that politically correct, though... Unless maybe we got a petition together and made a national announcement on CNN or something?
Or, maybe, we could try and eliminate all races? Not define someone as black, asian or caucasian.
It's ridiculous, if you think about it. We're all people. We all live in the same place. So why pass on judgement by appearances?
Besides, the "white folks" are being discriminated against enough as it is. I'm all for being our own race because we're the minority and are discriminated against within our own race (which is just ridiculous), but at what cost? Splitting our society against each other even more?
Has anyone ever had an arguement with someone of another race only to end it in "Well, you're a racist." Even though nothing even remotely racist was said?
Or watched a TV show where there were only white people, then it was called racist so they mixed other races in; then saw a show with only black or asian people?
I just plain don't understand how that makes sense. The "Whities" are called racist if we don't mix in other races; but if the other races don't put in us, it doesn't matter?
Where in the book of "Who's Racist" does that make ANY sense?
Unfortunately, chances are the judgemental race classification won't be taken away anytime soon. Therefore, I think we SHOULD be our own race. "Ginger."
Then there would be black, asian, caucasian, and ginger. It could also take less time while explaining criminals to the police, if you think about it.
"What the race of the offender?"
"Ginger."
"Okay, so we're searching for an unbelievably good-looking person with pale skin, red hair and possibly freckles."
"Exactly!"
Time- savers. Very important... Not to say that gingers are criminals, of course!

i think you are absolutely correct. the people that i am surrounded by in my school treat me like a catholic might treat a hindu. like i'm of a different race, origin, and ethnicity, all because of one thing: hair colour. another reason that hitler must hav been a wacko was his bad taste in hair colour, blonds are dumb, but redheads, we are what he was really looking for. but back to the race thing, people view us like we are different, but why don't they seem to believe that they are really the ones that are different. like brunettes and blonds, they both believe that we are the different ones, well, i say F*&^% them. they look funny walking around with their butter heads and their sod heads. yeah, a chunk of sod for hair. who wants that anyway?
see how this can get out of hand???

Hitler was for redheads not just blondes nazi's had a thing for nordic looks. Also there eastern battle plan was named after a redhead. Apparently alot of the nazis hatred for the catholic church was to avenge the burning of redhead "sisters" during the middleages. The aryan blueye blonde thing is just the dumb simplified version of their outlook and blondes selflove.

I believe we are a sort of sub-race. A race within our own. Blond's and brunette's are not a race so why should we be? And with the whole white's have to add in other races but others races dont have to have whites, I have always noticed this. Other races can be racist. We are not a race, I would see it as a different culture as part of a race. And what race you belong to isnt (ususally) defined by your religion. My S+E teacher told us that today.

Not an anti-redhead. But if redheads can be a fullyfledged race then why not blond's and brunettes? Yeah not a sub-race, not the right language. BUT WE ARE NOT A RACE!
