So we've seen some crazy kid politic videos, but this one is alright I think LOL! My kid came home SINGING THIS! We went to his wrestling practice and the kids were singing this...I'm thinking that even if it IS a parody, if it gets MY kid excited to learn about current events...I'm all for it ;)
Just a happy share here no bashing ( I conceded remember?? LOL), just some good kid dlean fun :D
Job well done to you Obama supporters. I shall concede not in hate, but in absolute respect and awe in the passion shown by us all in this election. Awe in the AMOUNT of voters we got OUT THERE VOTING and letting their voices be heard, maybe a bit louder than mine, but that is okay.
Welp, here's to standing once again as a united front hopefully and CHEERS to something we can almost ALL agree upon....BUSH is WELL on his way out of the door and so far...not well, but we have made it through!
Welp, your page hates me and will not let me comment for some reason. It won't load all the way for me. ANYWAY, I will wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY HERE instead! I do hope you had a wonderful day hun!!!
And so here it is a rant that says it far better than I was ever able to put my own thoughts....and yes...I am still voting conservative. I can respect the views and opinions of others, but this THIS makes sense to ME and THIS is where I stand....loudly. Then again, am I anything but loud when I have an opinion?
Okay red_petite....I'm going to borrow that white flag you waved on my profile for a moment if you don't mind
I just want to say...that I just listened to Obama's speach (I could hear the CHEERS as well as see/hear the fireworks from my patio) and well....job well done. It was a great speach regardless of my thoughts and/or conservative ways. The air here in Denver tonight is chilly by way of weather...but almost as if the chills we got from this speach spilled into the air. I don't know how else to explain this atmosphere around here tonight...but it was great.
SIGH....getting to the MOST important part of my evening surrounding this issue. I was at the dinner table with my kids and we discussed the importance of today in history (aside from it being my bday :P KIDDING). I asked my son if he knew what today will be known for....for...well forever. My normally timid son (who is of mixed races 1/2 African American) looked me eye to eye and without so much as a hint of hesitation he tells me...."Today is important because we will have the FIRST African American candidate for the President of the United States". I stopped short for a second and asked him if he'd heard this in class...maybe spoke about it in Social Studies what have you....he told me they hadn't at all. To my bewilderment....my timid child (who is all too aware of my conservative ways) tells me that while I've been watching all this unravel on the news...he was as well. He was taking notice that history was in the making...and history looked an awful lot like him. My son brought tears to my eyes tonight as he told me....wow...that all week he's been standing a bit taller at his mostly "white" school. He's always felt different and he tells me, he feels different still...but in a REALLY good way.
I'm at a loss tonight....is the hope that my son feels thinking of Obama as President something so many others feel and I'm missing? Obviously for different reasons than that of my 9 year old carefree child, I know. Am I really stuck in my ways like those that thought ill of JFK? Anyway, what I am saying is I'm officially rethinking my previous thinking and taking a MORE in depth look at all of this. Maybe the innocent hope of a child has put just the tiniest amount of hope in me...for "change".....call me officially confused on this election. ACK.....I need to go get a better reading on some issues now....so with that....I'm out ;)
That is all
Much love to everyone :)
PS THANK YOU to everyone that sent the Birthday wishes today, they really meant so very much to me :)
Here's how you play: once you have been tagged, you have to write a blog with 16 weird, random things, facts, habits or goals about yourself. At the end, choose 9 people to be tagged, listing their names. Don't forget to leave them a comment ("You're It") and to read your blog. You can't tag the person who tagged you. Since you can't tag me back, let me know when you've posted your blog so I can see your answers.
