I find it that alot of red heads do not know what type/style/shades of make up to use on there face. Now, for me I usually dont use anything, but on the odd occation I use a bit of eyeliner. I find that alot of us just seem to do this. I also notice that alot of red heads use bold colors of eye shadows, why?

What do you use and how do you apply it? Maybe post a picture of yourself all beautified up?

I love doing bold make up, though it has calmed as I've gotten older. I'm not sure why? It really is just appealing to me, lol that, and I really can pull off any of the colors. I'll charge my camera and see what I can do. One thing I have noticed,  many red heads have this pinkness... it drives me insane... its not the healthy tint, they just look chapped. Maybe thats just a generalization I dunno, but I hate it. lol A good moisturizer with SPF should be used everyday, rain or shine, must when doing make-up.

I use very little make up.  mostly just the eyes.  Brown works for me, looks good with my blue eyes.  I don't use blush or anything else

One of the worst turn-offs for me (and yeah I actually put this on my page) is when a girl overdoes the make-up.... especially the naturally pretty ones!

I think if you have freckles you shouldn't cover them up.

Ok girls !! listen up!!

      I have NO color to my eyelashes. No color to my eyebrows. etc. And I will not ever allow myself to look like a cake faced hussy! Sooooooooo. Bare Minerals is the SHINOLA! Mabeline makes a brow pencil called Espresso. I lightly use it for the avg day, and when I feel spunky I simply draw a darker line (I push down harder). I have green eyes so I do sometimes wear colored shadow as long as it looks good with the green.  Do not ever believe the "redheads can't wear red" BullShinola. If it looks good wear it! if it looks like crap.....don't.  Check my pics out ladies. I look Different from one day to the next.  To be a Redhead is an adventure, if you can't handle it then well......you are blonde.

Redheadedness Spreads

i am a vaulified beauty therapist and believe me i know EVERYTHING about make up!

the one thing thats drives me absolute crazy is redheads puttin on pale/ pasty/ ivory/transluent foundations. it makes the make up look very heavy and does nothing fr your complexion.

the best range of foundations if u are looking for a pale on has to be fond de teint mac liquid foundation, they are great. please try a ligh/meduim bronzer too, a bit of color makes all the difference and a peach blush.

as for eyes i reckon red heads can carry off any eye shadow color except pink or light blue!! shimmer browns or navy are gorg or green pigments!! nice blended colours are great too like brown and gold and green and silver.. i would also suggest (even if u choose not to put eye shadow on) to get and angled v small brush and matte black eye shadow and use this as ur eye liner, not a pencil, its very harsh on red heads.

PLEASE PLEASE wear massarce!! BLACK massarce!!! not brown....and please put a bit of meduim brown pencil lightly over ur eyebrows and smudge!!! teinting eyebrows and eye lashes is sooo good also and sooo easy to do.

clear or light browns gloss is lovely on your lips but never pink, all red heads should stay away from all pink make up.

and lastly, fake tan! i know alot of red heads are dead against it but sometimes it is nice to have a nice light layer of color on ur body if u are wearing certain colors like black or red. the best has to be st tropez mouse, applied lightly wit a mitt and although it says not to wash off, i think i quick shower in morning makes it look v natural for red heads...

i actually quite hate makeup. however i have red eyelashes and they drive me CRAZY so i wear mascarra (however you spell that). and with that brown eye liner and sometimes eye shadow. lol. i read somewhere that red heads are supposed to either wear either mascara or red lipstick. but thats just what i read. and i dont wear red lipstick...it makes me look paler than i already am...if thats possible.

I'm pretty young so i only wear a little make-up and not that often. But I've found that using a bronzer not only gives your skin abit more colour, it is also way.... better at covering up freckles that liquid foundation. I'm not saying freckles are bad, i love mine, but if you have really pale skin and darkerish freckles it can make you look a little weird. Bronzer doesnt cover them. Just balances them out with ur skin tone. And gives you a tan. Then add some mascarra and eyeshadow and ur set. I find autumn colours mixed with other hues looks best. But subtle is best. But remember, the darker your skin the more colour your skin can handle. The lighter, the less colour is can handel. And yes redheads can wear red!!!! all redheads look hot in abit of red.
