So redhedd.com - a social networking tool for red heads. I was surprised to see the amount of “gingers” on the site. I don’t know many red heads. In fact, growing up, I was convinced I was the only one. I can’t speak on behalf of any other red headed individual, however growing up for me was especially difficult as I was endlessly teased because of the color of my hair. It’s only now as an adult I have learned to appreciate what I was born with. I feel my hair walks into a room before I do. Not that it’s a bad thing, but I can’t express how aggravating it is when people ask me “is that your real hair color” Like I wake up everyday and paint a bazillion freckles on my body. It amazes me how ill informed people are about red heads. Generally, we are associated with the Wendy’s Hamburger girl or Ronald McDonald. Two stereotypes I loathe! Two giant fast food chains pumping lard into the world’s arteries. Which brings me to why I decided to even write this rant (for those of you who are actually reading) I read the article in the Toronto Sun about the extinction of red heads. I don’t disagree with what the article outlined; I just feel it was poorly written.
OK, that's all you get. Hopefully my "mood" & "music" was warning enough for you not to read this.
