Here in Belgium and our neighbouring country the Netherlands, we had a huge scandal a few months ago, with victims of sexual abuse by churchfathers that finally came out with their story after sometimes decades of silence...
Rome kept these men in function, just relocating them or promoting (!!!) them, or even in some cases threaten the victims or their parents!!!
But that's not the worst part... these are mistakes that started decades ago and were simply followed up... as a priest you're tought not to think, but to follow (God or his (self-proclaimed) representative on earth)
But when the sh*t hits the fan, and it starts to come out, what do these "men of God" do? do they come clean and repend? like they tell us to do?
NO! they call the victims liars and parasites! they try to make it sound not as bad as it really is...
When was suggested that the roman catholic church should compensate the victims (whose case was proven!) for their emotional damage, they said the church doesn't have ANY money... A week later I read that the vatican had made 10.5 million euros profit that year... and do you know any institution with more valuable art then the church of rome?? or more goldplating for that manner!!
After long debate our kind and helpfull churchfathers agreed (amongs themself) that the church could do a generous (sarcasm) offer of 5000 euro per victim...
The Roman Catholic Church has NO feeling with reality and is a cancerous abusive institution that needs to be REMOVED. Chopped up and sold for seperate parts, all the gold, all the art, all the Carrarra marble,... Hey maybe then we could ACTUALLY help people in need of help, instead of teaching them how to pray...
One last question: Could you imagine any other institution, that didn't have the veil of religion to protect and isolate itself, to have gone on with abusing children for so long?! They used their religion to carry on sinning... What did the bible say again? The devil comes in clever disguises right?
