I must live under a rock because yesterday I heard for the first time Adele's "Someone Like You". It's now one of my ALL TIME favorite sad/love songs. Beautiful, poetic, emotional, sad, POWERFUL! As a romantic, I immerse myself in lyrics about love lost and gained. Her words are simple and in her own way coming straight from the heart. As a man, i jealous that such a person with innate feelings such as mine wrote a song to someone that must have been really something in her life. Thus the one that got away...
I've gained inspiration from the song and wrote something myself based on my past experiences.
Do you have a favorite song that makes you feel you relate to an experience, sad or happy?
Cheers...Rico♫

Won’t you…?
I can’t get you out of my mind
Believe me, everyday I try
Got my life going, switching gears
Can’t believe it has been a year
I still celebrate things in my head
Still smell your scent on my bed
Still hearing your voice in the air
Girl what we had I can’t compare
Do I let myself fall for your type?
Or were we from the go just hype?
Sure like to be a fly on the wall the day
You decided to end it and take it away
The same visions keep doing laps
You and I, good smoke, contrast
Feeling your body on mine at last
You just don’t know you’re the best
Your whisper gave me the shivers
But your lips kissed away my fevers
Hand in mine down in a crowd
Heads turning saying “WOW”
Never before did I feel the awe
To shout it out, be out of breath, only to fall
Can’t you see you got my best and my all?
I just don’t understand this shiznit at all
So now I’m meeting up with honeys
Got my glove on, got some money
I like Chrissy’s lips, just yummy
And yeah, what Karen does, so funny
There’s Mandy out West tonight
Where she lacks Carmella’ll shine
Got all these girls on speed dial now
It’s hard to believe what I am now about
With my skin tan and my heart strong
I still just want to write you all the songs
To me you and I are still flying freely
Won’t you come be in the sky with me?
