Well I thought this would be a good weekend to put up the pool..

The wife agreed, then came the “but” (if that’s not in the list of words women use it certainly should be).

The deck in the back had a couple of places that were getting kind of weak…it’s been there a while and did need some work…so first she wants the deck re-done..before I put the pool up..not just fix it…re-do it..

So spend all day taking the boards up without splitting them …because she wants to re-use the deck boards because they are still in pretty good shape….and yeah takes a while to pull 200 nails…good thing it was only a 8 x 10 deck..

Did get to have some fun tearing the framing apart, didn’t have to save it so I got to bust the hell out of it with a wrecking bar and a big hammer..then off to Lowes for some lumber for a new frame. (all the while checking the parking lot for the two gal’s running the wallet stealing scam…funny they never show up for me..)

Anyway after getting the frame built and into place I get to put the deck boards back down…takes almost as long to drive 200 nails..by the time I got to the last couple of boards it was getting dark, couldn’t see and I was starting to beat the hell out of my fingers instead of the nails. ( yeah I know I should have used screws for the deck boards)

So much for putting the pool up Saturday..so I figure Sunday I’ll get to put it up..

Wrong..one more “but first” some limbs on a couple or six  oak trees need trimming before the pool goes up…yeah…a ladder and a ten foot pole saw just to reach them..

So that takes a while…but finally get them trimmed and cleaned up..so now?

No….well yes..”but first”..now I have to get some lattice panels and build a fence around where the pool will go first….not so much for privacy..because of two dogs that think their sole purpose in life is to destroy anything and everything they can find in the yard..

Doesn’t matter plastic..wood..metal..if they can get their mouth around it they chew it up..had them one of those feeders you fill up and it just lets out so much food at a time…

They ate it…

Oh well maybe the pool will get put up next weekend…”but”..
