Okay, today I was put in the pre-schoolers,
The classroom was absolutely BEAUTIFUL there was alot of light coming into the classroom, the double doors were open all day, so there was a nice breeze, also theres like a little porch thing outside, so the children can walk out and play with toys there as well.
Lots of the childrens work was on the walls, and different words on things, for example, 'chair' labelled on the chairs, 'window' on the window etc. It was very good in my opinion :D
The toys were amazing, They made a 'home corner' but they changed it to a hospital, with doctors and nurses uniforms, equipment and beds etc.. it was GREAT! (the nursery is on the grounds of a hospital, so thats the reason of it :))
Most of the day I was asked to play in the sand pit with 2 children at a time (one of the roles), one of the children was really quiet and would only nod and shake his head.. (I think he dont like new faces straight away, little shy) so I made the effort to talk to him and play games. We were at the sand pit , and there was plastic bugs in there (bees, lady birds, flys, grass hoppers, butterflys etc) He thought it would be funny to put all the bugs up my arms, on my head and on my shoulders.. YES I WAS COVERED IN SAND! BUT it worked out well, as he gave me many cuddles and spoke to me, I got him out of his shell towards me ! WHOOOP
One of the bad sides of this job is that you make bonds with the children, and have to leave again, HOWEVER the children I was with on monday recognised me, and if you remember one of the little boys were hugging me LOTS, he ran over to me in the garden and sat on my lap, telling me about the zoo (all the animals were sleeping, except the monkeys, they were fighting O_o eek)
there was some other funny stories .. but these were the cutest! :)
