Yesterday I made a start on planting my borders, all well and hoopy.

This morning I woke up to find that a neibour was having fencing replaced and the men doing it instead of keeping to one side of the boundary were trampling and digging up my freshly planted borders

All right, it was something that needed doing, but they could at least have had the decency to knock on my door and ask, couldn't they?

Thanks for all the support on this. The neibours rent the house from a private landlord, so hopefully I should get some kind of compensation off them.

I've been mourning over a ruined rose bush, aquilegia and montbretia, it would have been worse if I hadn't challenged them - they really wanted to break apart some raised flower beds :(

Don't you know there's no such thing as deceny and common courtesy in this country anymore? :)

I would sue.

I would definilty say something and make them replace the plants that they ruined.

I am so sorry all your hard work was just trampled on like it was nothing. Whatever happened to common courtesy?

I agree!!!!!!!!
You put in alot of hard work, for it just to ruined.  If you would
have known, you could have waited until they done.  Why didn't the
neighbor talk you about it?  I put a fence up last summer, and
consulted my neighbors about the property line.  Plus, I didn't
want to cut down any of the a jointing tree line.  People have no
consideration for others these days.
